In 6 days across Austria by bike from Vorarlberg to Vienna.
Our journey to Vienna started on the 19th of July. We (Michael, Lucca, Simon and me) are 4 friends. We started the first day at the lake of Constance and continued to the "Bregenzerwald" valley. Afterwards we headed to the german border near Oberstaufen. The destination of the day was Reutte (Tyrol).
The second day was the longest section of the tour (about 150km). We started at Reutte and continued to the Plansee, afterwards via the Ammerwald valley to Bad Tölz and Rosennheim. The Ammerwald valley is about 15km long and surrounded by high mountains. At the end of the day we stayed at a hotel in Rosenheim.
The third section was planned to be shorter then the other ones (because of the long section the day before). We started at Rosenheim and continued to the Chiemsee. There one of us took the train to Salzburg, because his knee hurts.
We started in Salzburg (the half way to Vienna was already done) and continued to Fuschl. There we stopped at the Redbull International Headquarters. Afterwards we drove to the Wolfgansee, Mondsee, Attersee and Wels. It was very nice to see all the different lakes in this area.
The second last day we started at Wels and continued until Linz. Afterwards we followed the Danube cycle path until Melk.
The last day we started in Melk and continued to St. Pölten, Wienerwald, Schönbrunn and Stephansplatz. When we reached Vienna it suddenly started raining until we have reached the city center.
Our tour was a lot of fun and interesting to see different parts of Austria and Germany.
